The Valley of Fontdouce just before the Adventure Park of Fontdouce

A leisure outing near Cognac and Saintes in Charente-Maritime

Located 20 minutes from Saintes and Cognac , in the heart of a peaceful valley, Fontdouce is a multi-faceted site consisting of an adventure park, a former abbey and several acres of green space .

Tree climbing for the whole family !

Take height on the 12 tree climbing courses of the park : 3 courses are designed for the little ones (3 to 8 years old) and 9 courses for the older ones, distributed between 2 and 15 meters in height. Not to mention the two parallel 200-meter ziplines to race through the air !

And above all, don’t leave without a cultural break !

Whether thanks to the various treasure hunts or simply during a cultural visit, take the time to lose yourself in the different rooms steeped in history and in the French gardens of the old Abbey of Fontdouce. Located 300m from the park, listed as a Historic Monument and restored for more than 50 years, it offers walkers the discovery of an unusual set of medieval buildings intertwined unexpectedly and marked by the upheavals of history.

And why not a stroll along the Fontaine Douce ?

The Fontaine Douce, from which the park and the abbey take their name, is a small stream that flows through the valley and forms the link between the adventure park and the abbey. It brings a most appreciable calm and serenity. And it forms a common thread along which you will enjoy walks, until you discover its source, 500m from the park.

Hiking trails to venture between Saintes and Cognac

Many hiking trails also pass through the Fontdouce Valley, for example the circuits of the 10 and 13 fountains that depart from Burie and are respectively 13 and 20km.
There is also the circuit of 7 sources from Saint Césaire. You will find explanatory sheets for these three hikes below.

Do not hesitate to borrow them to discover the varied landscapes of our beautiful Roman Saintonge and see the Fontdouce Valley with a different eye

This was a great day out enjoyed by everyone that went. We were a party of 9 with an age range from 9-62. There is a course for all confidence levels and the... staff were superb.Plan to spend the day and take a picnic as there are loads of picnic areas plus once you get your climbing harness you keep it for the day, so no issues wearing it when heading back to the car park for you picnic bags.read more

Excellent park. Great value. We booked online and decided on 3 to 5 hrs. Apparently the price doesn't change anyway it's just for their planning of harnesses .... Very well set up. We were there over 5 hours and didn't even do all the courses. Recommend go early as soon as it opens as it was very busy in the afternoon. Lots of other activities too - escape game , laser tag ... but we just did the accrobranche. Great for all ages. There are 3 courses for 3 to 8 year olds and some things for younger children that don't need a harness. The hard courses are also very challenging for adults and teens alike. Snack bar on site with paninis and ice creams, coffe and tea and nice clean toilets. Excellent day. Very good value. Highly recommend.read more

Best accrobranche in the area. 9 trails. Shaded area. Plenty of places where to rest and snacks. Clean facilities. Staff helpful and friendly. Worth for a full... day or a couple of hours. Splendid surrounding. Food truck (when we were there) that serves burgers and chips for very decent price. Large parking. Will go again for sure. Highly recommended.read more

Great adventure park in a beautiful and unique environment just in front of a grandiose abbey. My kids absolutely enjoyed the experience and there are many... levels to progress from easy to more challenging. The staff is great, very helpful and friendly. There is also a café within the park, very enjoyable when you have to wait for your kids to finish their activities.Definitively recommend to go!read more
