For your picnics, tables are spread over the Fontdouce valley to make the most of nature. And after a meal, there’s nothing like a little nap in our relaxation net before heading back to the activities ! For more information, click on Lounge Nature.
Whether thanks to the various treasure hunts or simply during a cultural visit, take the time to lose yourself in the different rooms steeped in history and in the French gardens of the old Abbey of Fontdouce. Located 300m from the park, listed as a Historic Monument and restored for more than 50 years, it offers walkers the discovery of an unusual set of medieval buildings intertwined unexpectedly and marked by the upheavals of history.
The Fontaine Douce, from which the park and the abbey take their name, is a small stream that flows through the valley and forms the link between the adventure park and the abbey. It brings a most appreciable calm and serenity. And it forms a common thread along which you will enjoy walks, until you discover its source, 500m from the park.
Many hiking trails also pass through the Fontdouce Valley, for example the circuits of the 10 and 13 fountains that depart from Burie and are respectively 13 and 20km.
There is also the circuit of 7 sources from Saint Césaire. You will find explanatory sheets for these three hikes below.
Do not hesitate to borrow them to discover the varied landscapes of our beautiful Roman Saintonge and see the Fontdouce Valley with a different eye.
